The decline and or death of heavy metal

For many years the genre of music called Heavy Metal has graced us with samples of awesomeness like Run to the hills by Iron Maiden, War pigs by Black Sabbath, and a whole host of songs by Metallica. For whom the bells toll, Ride the lightening, master of puppets and of course one.
Even Metallica’s sell-out album “black” or “untitled” or “metallica, metallica” or whatever its called is still one of my favorites. Then came the CD, LOAD, More of an accurate description than an album title, it was a load of crap.
It featured a country and western song entitled mama said.
I understand a band trying to break into more main stream and find a wider audience, but the country and western crowd isn’t in your demographic. That is some life skills for you Metallica.
The CD, LOAD for me is when Heavy Metal in general started to die off. It was the first CD I ever threw in the garbage. That is saying a lot as I’m a cheap bastard. The continual decline raced forward with every CD released by every and any “heavy metal” group. A few rays of hope presented themselves, but not many.
Then a couple of days ago a band was suggested to me as a joke. Sadly its the best thing that I’ve heard in many, many years and in my opinion they are one of the best thing in Metal today. Like everything bat-shit crazy it has come out of Japan and its called BABYMETAL. Have a listen to Chocolate and Megitsune. Fuck and Yea.
To be fair Heavy Metal Rockers in their fifties should get a pass on the high energy performances. Babymetal is clearly hopped up on sugar and youth. But to all you new “heavy metal” bands, this is the new standard. “Metal bands” are being shown up by a bunch of Japanese school girls. Babymetal should be a side show at best, not the best thing to come along in years.
The song Death borrows a couple of guitar riffs from Metallica. Is there some symbolism there or am I over-analyzing it?
Babymetal are doing / did a “world” tour. Which included three countries, none of which are near me. This sucks. Two things Babymetal desperately needs. first is to tour near me and second is a all girl woman cover band.
