Very basic training. Airsoft balls are round.
Sizes of airsoft balls.
-6mm is the most common, When airsoft balls are mentioned “6mm” is assumed.
-8mm is also available.
-When purchasing a Soft for game play its best to stick with 6mm. This removes the problem of carrying two types of balls in the field.
Airsoft ball color.
-Balls are manufactured in as many colors as you can think of from black to neon. Its a personal preference.
Ball weights
-Range from 11g to 90g
-Most popular for the cheap “crapsoft” guns is .12g
-Game play .20g and .25g are used
-Plinking .20g
-As a general rule. The heavier the ball the more accurate it will be, lighter balls will fly further.
Types of balls.
-Plastic, Biodegradable, Marking. Tracer, Super bounce, Snap (explodes on impact) among others.
Remember to clean up your plastic balls after use as they will be washed away during a rain storm. They can be a danger to fish as they mistake them for food,
Don’t reuse balls
– they deform slightly on impact
– the hi-cap magazines will place a indent into the ball causing damage to the hop system after repeated use.
